We are looking for a Food Technologist to join our in-house technical team for a fixed-term period of 6-months where you'll play a key role in safeguarding the integrity of Whitbread's renowned Premier Inn and Restaurant brands. In this versatile position, you'll ensure the accuracy of supplier, product, and customer data while maintaining strong relationships with technical and cross-functional teams. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring new products meet Whitbread's high standards, while managing allergy, nutritional, and lifestyle information for guests. If you're passionate about quality, compliance, and making a tangible impact on an iconic brand, this is the perfect opportunity for you Responsibilities Including, but not limited to: Being the technical guardian of Whitbread’s Premier Inn and Restaurant brands, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of supplier, product, and customer data Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across both technical and cross-functional teams, providing expert guidance and support Ensuring new products and product improvements meet Whitbread's high standards by reviewing and validating technical data Actively maintaining and ensuring accurate product specifications, agreeing on all relevant policies, provenance, and quality Managing allergy, nutritional, and lifestyle data for guests, ensuring accuracy and compliance Reviewing food and drink menus, ensuring all copy is legal, accurate, and compliant with local regulations. Qualifications Degree (or equivalent) in Food Science/Technology or relevant experience in a related subject within the food processing sector (retail or manufacturing) Strong knowledge of food labelling legislation and experience developing, reviewing, and authorizing menu/pack labels and specifications Excellent verbal and written communication, numeracy, and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, colleagues, and suppliers Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Experience in food business technical or development departments handling specifications and supporting product development Detail-oriented with a positive and committed attitude Strong time management, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team Desire to learn, embrace change, and support continuous improvement In this role you'll have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in maintaining NSF’s high standards of food quality and safety for one of our key clients.
