A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Site Manager, who will manage and develop the Security team in all areas of Security and maintain close working relations. You will be expected to effectively manage Security to ensure that the team are working in line with site policies and procedures. Maintain that the customer is fully briefed and updated regarding any Security related issues that arise. Information: Position: Security Manager Location: Horsham, West Sussex Salary: £45,000 per annum (Increasing in early 2025) Hours: 45 hours per week Shifts: Monday – Friday (as per business needs) Scope and summary: SIA Door Supervisor Licence is required Experience in Security Management or a similar role is required of at least 2 years. Experience of working in demanding, and sometimes high-pressure sites. Experience working on construction sites a bonus. Have a clear understanding of the customers core values. Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills. Have excellent motivational skills Will have experience and knowledge of the Timegate system. Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure. Excellent PC skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent understanding of the prevailing industry standards and thorough knowledge of relevant security systems and their operation. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and implement Schroders’ Group Physical Security Policy and Procedures Operations Leadership & Management Report & liaise daily with Schroders’ UK Physical Security Operations Manager Report & liaise daily with the Facilities Manager to ensure effective communication of all matters pertaining to the delivery of a high standard of a professional security service. Be responsible for the professional conduct & development of his/her senior security officers & his/her team of security officers. Ensure compliance with SLA requirements, minimising associated risks to the company and to the customer. In liaison with Group Physical Security, oversee the effective use and maintenance of physical security equipment (CCTV, Electronic Access Control Systems, alarms, communications equipment, electronic key cabinets). Take ownership of incidents, direct the security team to ensure response and management is in accord with Schroders’ Group policy and procedures. Work in partnership with service partners and customers’ representatives, ensuring all aspects of site security and fire prevention requirements are effectively managed. Ensure staffing is at all times at required levels, with regular shift patterns worked by trained and qualified staff. To manage on a day to day basis the CCTV, Fire and Security systems installed, ensuring that all staff are fully trained and competent in their roles and carrying out their required duties. Ensure that all equipment is managed, used, monitored and reported defective in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensure that all incidents are managed and responded to in accordance with policies and procedures. Reliable with the ability to be “on call” and to respond in times of emergency. Staff Management: Establish and manage a smart security team, motivated, well informed, focused and clear about its role and objectives. Maintain fair and consistent disciplinary procedures. Ensure all employees are motivated and trained to the required standard and subject to regular effective performance monitoring. Take full responsibility for the effective & meaningful assessments in respect of his/her supervisors & team personnel. Ensure that all staff grievances are dealt with according to company procedures. Play a proactive part in the control of staff turnover. Effectively manage and reduce absence. Equipment: Control use of all security equipment ensuring regular audits. Ensure lawful, safe, efficient and economical use and recording of all supplies and consumables. Ensure records of all security equipment are maintained. Ensure all PPE is fit for purpose and serviceable at all times. Manage all relevant systems and ensure that all defects are correctly reported and monitored. Administration: Provide accurate and timely information for the preparation of reports and planning. Ensure all reporting standards are maintained at the highest level. Ensure all extra cover is accurately monitored and recorded. Ensure provision of adequate information for proper personnel administration of employees. Provide accurate and timely timesheets, ensure they are kept up to date and to send time sheets to HO as and when required.
