Faber is a leading independent publisher, committed to publishing the world’s most significant voices. The current list spans Nobel laureates, bestselling literary fiction, award-winning non-fiction, poetry, film, classical music, and drama, alongside an unrivalled backlist.
We are looking to recruit a Publicity Assistant to join our Publicity team, providing administrative support to the publicists working across Faber’s adult lists and ensuring the smooth running of the department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for books who is keen to start a career in Publicity.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to be flexible and prioritise responsibilities in a busy environment will be key. You will help manage the team’s day-to-day admin tasks, such as compiling campaign round-ups, making travel bookings, handling email enquiries and coordinating review mailings, as well as arranging schedules and accompanying authors to interviews and events. You will also attend and support the organisation of company events.
You will assist publicists with key campaigns: researching and pitching to media, attending meetings with journalists and event organisers, plus helping at evening and weekend events as required. Reporting to the Head of Publicity, the role offers a great opportunity to gain knowledge from publicists working across a broad range of titles and genres.
The successful candidate will have an interest in how communications can influence the success of a book and a curiosity about connecting books to readers. They will enjoy building relationships and thrive in a team environment.
This is an entry-level position, but previous relevant office administration experience would be an advantage.
This is a full-time, permanent position, based in our central London office. We accommodate hybrid working. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
If you would like to be considered for this position, please apply by sending a covering letter and CV to PublicityAssistant@faber.co.uk, quoting reference INT.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 2nd March 2025.
