An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Environmental Consultant to join our growing and well-respected Environmental Management, Permitting & Compliance team from our established Newcastle office.
As an articulate, motivated, and reliable person you will join our dynamic Newcastle team, where you'll bring 1-3 years of experience in Environmental Consulting, combined with a strong work ethic, motivation, and reliability. If you have previous consulting experience and environmental auditing skills, you'll be a standout candidate! Our team is not only friendly and fun-loving but also leaders in Environmental Management, Compliance, and Permitting. Here, you'll work on a diverse range of projects, building your expertise and fostering client relationships across the region. You'll also collaborate on exciting, high-impact projects with our national and multi-disciplinary teams. If you're self-driven, we'll provide the support and opportunities to sharpen your skills in document development, technical knowledge, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
Some of your responsibilities will include:
1. Building and maintaining effective relationships with our diverse range of clients and internal SLR team members.
2. Compliance Auditing and reporting.
3. Potential for secondment placements.
4. Licence variation and reporting.
5. Assisting with the development of environmental management plans.
6. Assisting in the environmental monitoring across a range of areas such as surface water, groundwater, dust, traffic, and more.
7. Working within and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors.
8. Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports.
9. Occasional travel to undertake field studies.
Experience
To be successful in this role, you will be a positive and engaging character with a great sense of humour as well as have:
1. A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
2. 1-3 years + experience in Environmental Science, preferably in Consulting.
3. The ability to work autonomously, and the drive to learn from a variety of exciting projects.
4. Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
5. Working knowledge of NSW environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines.
6. Experience in the mining, infrastructure, power, and/or agribusiness sectors is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
7. Competencies for environmental auditing, risk management, and incident investigation is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Experience with Consulting software and intermediate-advanced Excel skills.
10. Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
