Job Title: SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: High Peak (SK23)
Pay Rate: £100 per day
GSL Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a primary school setting in High Peak (SK23). This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about helping young learners develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive in an educational environment.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with their learning.
2. Assist in implementing individual education and behavior support plans to help students develop positive behaviors.
3. Work alongside teachers to deliver differentiated lessons and provide targeted support to SEMH students.
4. Promote a calm, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages personal growth and emotional well-being.
5. Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust and resilience.
6. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with primary-aged students with SEMH needs or in a similar role.
2. Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies for supporting SEMH students.
3. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
4. DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
5. Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with students facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
