We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter and Decorator in the Wigan and Redditch area. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and decorating surfaces to the highest standards, ensuring client satisfaction. You will work on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial spaces.
Your place of work will be in and around the Redditch or Wigan area.
Key Accountabilities:
* Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, or filling cracks and holes.
* Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
* Install wallpapers and other decorative finishes.
* Assess and advise on colour schemes, materials, and finishes to meet client preferences.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment, protecting floors, furniture, and other surfaces from paint splatter.
* Ensure tools, brushes, and other equipment are clean and in good working order.
* Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment.
Experience & Knowledge:
* Proven experience as a Painter and Decorator or in a similar role.
* Proficiency in painting techniques and the application of decorative finishes.
* Knowledge of materials, tools, and safety procedures.
* Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality finishes.
* Experience in using spray-painting equipment.
* Knowledge of advanced decorative techniques, such as marbling or graining.
Qualifications:
* Secondary education including at least 5 passes at GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English.
