MacGregor Industries manufactures a wide variety of machined composite and plastic components for Medical and Defence industry customers within aerospace, F1, maritime and electronics sectors in small to medium batch sizes, with a reputation for consistent high quality and on time delivery. We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating and maintaining various types of CNC milling machinery to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes and the ability to work with both manual and computerised equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in CNC milling and assembly.Duties: Set and operate CNC and manual VMCs and routers. Select appropriate tooling and workholding. Assemble parts and components according to specifications and engineering drawings. Use agreed standardised processes. Responsible for first off quality requirements. Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet customer standards. Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and efficiency. Requirements: Proven experience as a CNC Machinist within a manufacturing environment. A good knowledge of G code programming is essential. Ability to read engineering drawings. Proficient in basic maths for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks. Experience in using various power tools and hand tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of woodworking machines, routers and circular saws would be an advantage but not essential. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Familiarity with CADCAM software would be useful as would knowledge of multi axis machining. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
