Job summary Specialty Doctor in Stroke Medicine Applications are invited for an opportunity to join the dynamic stroke workforce at one of the three Hyper-acute Stroke Centres in Greater Manchester. You will be an integral part of the Stroke Team at Stockport Foundation Trust Primary Stroke Centre which comprises of 9 Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Senior Clinical Fellows, Junior Clinical Fellows and Specialist Nurses. The post will involve middle grade support for Hyper acute stroke unit, Stroke rehabilitation unit and Stroke /TIA outpatient clinics. These posts are designed to support the 'Middle Grade' tier of doctors in the Stroke services and participation in the full shift rota which will include working evenings (only until 11.30pm) and weekends. Main duties of the job There is the opportunity to pursue a research interest during the post. There is an active teaching programme and a dedicated simulation suite. This post is particularly suited for applicants seeking a career in Geriatric Medicine, General internal Medicine, Neurology or Rehabilitation Medicine. They will be given an educational supervisor and be assisted in compiling evidence of good practice to augment their portfolio. You will receive annual appraisal which will support you through the Revalidation process. The post is permanent subject to annual satisfactory performance and appraisal.
