Myddelton College is a leading co-educational, day and boarding school with pupils aged 4-18. We are situated in the historic town of Denbigh in North Wales. The school has 37 acres of pitches, parkland and play areas and beautiful views across to the Clwydian hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and enthusiastic teacher of English as a Second Language. This position is full-time. There is also the possibility of suitably qualified candidates being asked to assist with small-group numeracy and literacy interventions across the Senior School. A minimum qualification is that of TEFL teacher, but we are keen to appoint a professional holding the CELTA or an equivalent qualification. We also encourage candidates with a Level 4 teaching assistant qualification and those with any ALN intervention experience.
Alongside high academic expectations we have an excellent Learning Through The Outdoors programme, an active music department, a CCF unit and we run all levels of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. We run a full programme of extra-curriculum activities and sports teams and would expect job applicants to show a willingness to contribute to these programmes. Primarily though we are looking for a hard-working individual who is organised, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about how to devise interventions to assist pupils with their English language skills.
Myddelton College is totally committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, as all new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
