We have fantastic opportunity for an Energy Strategy and Policy Manager to join us in Preston.
Our Role
The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Climate change and the imperative of achieving Net Zero carbon is one of the most pivotal policy matters of our time, where it’s already clear future generations will look back on what we did now.
Electricity North West not only takes a leading role in our region but recognising the need to address policy at least on a national basis, is looking for a Strategy and Policy Manager to identify key policy areas for our region and develop the right evidence based strategic and policy stances for the company. These will shape the outcomes of national and local government policies and by taking an active role in policy developments be reputation enhancing for ENWL with key stakeholders.
Whilst the issue of the moment is net zero, this role will go further and focus on what’s important to our customers and stakeholders and work with our businesses senior managers and directors to identify where we should influence policy and what we should put forward as solutions.
To succeed in the role, you will be able to point to tangible outcomes at a national and regional policy level where you will have enabled ENWL to move the dial and take a leading role shaping how the energy sectors operate, giving ENWL and its customers benefits over time.
What we’re looking for
* Educated to degree level in a relevant subject;
* Proven experience in a public policy making or strategy role, ideally within Utilities;
* Strong background in public policy and/or strategy development with proven analytical and commercial skills;
* Strong communications capability presenting strategy and policy to CEO and Director level, taking challenge, refining and developing a coherent set of policy stances;
* Experience of working with public affairs professionals bringing together business thinking and stakeholder and consumer understanding.
