As a Test Automation Engineer, you’ll develop and support operational systems for Roke’s National Security customers. This role will be at the heart of customer missions, ensuring adequate testing of new and existing systems to ensure availability in mission critical environments.
Roke is a leading technology & engineering company with clients spanning National Security, Defence and Intelligence. You will work alongside our customers to solve their complex and unique challenges.
You will be responsible for
Work closely with software developers to reach a common understanding of the code base and test coverage at unit level
Collaborate with analysts to ensure the required business scenarios are covered in the acceptance test scripts
Work on both functional and non-functional areas of an application
Identify and raise awareness of risks arising from the automation test results
Identify new and implement existing test frameworks to improve confidence in testing
Be proficient in a range of coding languages (you may be an expert in only one)
Mentor and advise other team members in testing practices
Development of test plans and verify that these test plans validate the expected functional and non-functional requirements.
Working closely with the development teams on new software roll outs, making sure the customer environment remains stable.
Promote, where applicable automated tests in an integration test, performance test etc. framework.
Monitor or help to monitor system performance and error rates after software deployment
For bug escapes - document how they occurred and with the leadership team, document an action plan for improvement.

GLOUCESTER - Alongside hybrid and flexible working options, you’ll find our Gloucester site in a business park two minutes from junction 11A of the M5; The site allows easy access to our local customer base. Set on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, you are never far from a picturesque view or lunch time walk.

Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve DV clearance.
