SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Lostwithiel Contract Type: Full-time Salary: £83.33 per day Start Date: Immediate GSL Education is seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs (SEN) in a school in Lostwithiel. This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, compassionate, and committed to helping children with Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties succeed in an educational setting. A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this position. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs. Assist in delivering individualised learning plans to support student progress. Encourage participation, independence, and confidence in the classroom. Support teachers in adapting resources and strategies to meet student needs. Help manage behaviour challenges through positive reinforcement. Supervise students during breaks, lunchtime, and school activities to ensure safety. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support student development. Requirements Experience working with children with SEN is desirable. A strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting young people. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
