Job Description
As Technician, you’ll provide site-based engineering support to minimise downtime and ensure uptime, and availability of the installed automated equipment on site. Through a professional engineering approach and a commitment to service quality, you’ll support the shift Team by utilising a broad range of skills taking a proactive approach to improving performance and reliability.
The Technician role directly reports to the Engineering Shift Manager, while being also mentored by the Senior Engineer. You will be working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (rotation of days/nights)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
4. Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of all onsite automated equipment.
5. Carry out planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment including, tote conveyors, spiral conveyors, sorters, shuttles and robotics.
6. Fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and/or electrical faults.
7. Respond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner ensuring minimal downtime.
8. Prioritise system faults and optimise uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment.
9. Complete all reports in line with requirements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages.
10. Comply with health and safety legislation as priority focus
11. Participate in the delivery, installation, commissioning and testing of upgrades and enhancements.
12. Ensure optimum levels of onsite spare parts are maintained.
13. Support site meetings as required.
14. Mentor, train and advise junior members of the team.
Qualifications
15. Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent qualification in engineering discipline [multiskilled preferable]
16. Experience of working with automated material handling systems
17. Ability to work at height.
18. Capable of understanding Mechanical, Electrical and/or Electronic technical manuals and drawings
19. Proven competence in H&S
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
21. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
22. Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
23. Ability to work in a time critical environment
24. Effective time and workload management skills
25. PC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
