The role
To manage and co-ordinate the strategic planning function for the organisation, by undertaking national research, working directly with the OPCC and external strategic partnerships to agree and progress joint priorities. This includes the publication of relevant documents in line with national or local requirements.
What youll do
Manage and direct the internal strategic planning requirements, including the organisational assessment process, strategy development, business planning and associated business risk management processes and procedures, e.g. Force Management Statement delivery and the Chief Constables Delivery Plan. This includes ensuring the relevant structures, process, policies and communication methods are in place to deliver against these.
In line with available resources, to ensure effective internal and external consultation and engagement mechanisms are in place, e.g. internal and external surveys.
To advise and direct on strategic messages which need to be communicated internally and externally.
To lead motivate and develop staff within the Strategy Development Team.
