The Mental Health Support Team Bradford (MHST) are a new and innovative service working within children and young people's mental health services. The MHST offers preventative and early mental health and emotional wellbeing support within education settings. We are looking for a fixed term/secondment Project Support Officer (PSO) to assist with projects around improvements to service delivery across the service. The successful candidate will be supported by the clinical lead to plan, organise and deliver on workstreams identified as a priority for the service. The post is funded until 31st March 2025, with no current agreed future funding. The successful candidate will hold strong IT and organisational skills, have a passion for system improvement and hold experience in managing projects independently with self-direction.

Main duties of the job
The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) Bradford is an early intervention and preventative emotional wellbeing & mental health service for children and young people, delivered within education settings. MHSTs are part of a national government initiative to increase accessibility to mental health support for under 18s. MHST Bradford has been operational since 2019 and has been growing in staff capacity and coverage of education settings year on year.
As a new service that has been growing and evolving, the MHST has identified several project workstreams to assist with the development and delivery of the teams. Part of the project work will be to design to enhance identified systems and processes that already exist within the MHST, as well as to work alongside the clinical lead/programme lead and implementation group with projects associated with the new business case and expansion plans for the MHST.
This work will require a significant amount of planning, reporting, outcome management and delivery resource with support and direction from the clinical lead/programme lead and implementation group. The successful post holder will hold strong organisational and IT skills, and previous experience of leading on NHS projects, with proven positive outcomes.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of writing and producing reports and presentations for various audiences
* Experience of project management including the management of project documentation such as delivery plans, risk registers, issues logs, change logs and escalation reports
* Experience of project management support including facilitating meetings, workshops, providing administrative support
* Significant experience of working in a fast-paced environment with frequent competing demands on time
* Experience of working with Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher
* Significant experience in a PSO or equivalent role
* Experience of setting up projects using existing project documentation templates
* Experience of working within the NHS and/or in CYP Mental Health field
Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to understand, interpret and explain complex information
* Good negotiation and facilitation skills
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across the trust and externally, working positively with staff and the public
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Qualification in project or programme management
* Qualification linked to CYP Mental Health
