Junior Data Analyst

What we’re looking for
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to develop their career in data analytics. The role will be embedded within the Global Safety Evidence Centre at Lloyd’s Register Foundation, and you will play a vital role in leveraging data to support our mission of improving safety and wellbeing.
Working with both internal teams and external partners you will collect, analyse, interpret, and communicate data across a variety of projects (such as the World Risk Poll), to a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders. The role can be thought of more as a data storyteller rather than a BI analyst. A large focus will be distilling narratives out of complex risk and safety datasets and making them accessible and engaging.

The role
* Collect, clean, and analyse datasets to identify trends and patterns
* Assist in the design and implementation of quantitative research projects
* Conduct statistical analyses using software such as R, Python, or Stata
* Support senior analysts in developing models and simulations
* Generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate insights effectively
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand objectives and provide data-driven recommendations
* Support the maintenance and improvement of data collection and analysis processes
* Perform quality assurance on data to ensure accuracy and integrity
* Stay updated with the latest quantitative methods and tools.
What you bring
* Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field which demonstrates practical application of data analysis skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or equivalent) and familiarity with at least one data analysis language
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* A team player with a willingness to learn and adapt
* A desire to upskill and learn, the Foundation places a high value on developing and supporting colleagues in post
* Knowledge of statistical methods and experience applying them to analyse qualitative and quantitative data (Desirable)
* Familiarity with dynamic data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, d3.js) (Desirable)
* Candidates must provide work authorization for the respective country.

This position is available on a full-time basis, however, the Foundation is open to applications for this role from candidates looking for a working pattern of 0.8 FTE or applications made on the basis of a job share arrangement.
