Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Mental Health
Location: Powys
Rate: Up to £37 per hour
An exciting opportunity has recently become available for an Occupational Therapist to join the Community Mental Health Services team in Powys.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will provide specialized occupational therapy services to adults with mental health needs, focusing on promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life. Your role will involve conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing tailored treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to support mental health recovery. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals, social services, and community organizations to ensure coordinated care. Additionally, you will provide advice and support to service users and their families, efficiently manage a caseload, and actively participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case discussions. Maintaining accurate documentation and staying informed about best practices in mental health occupational therapy will also be key aspects of your role.

Qualifications and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you must hold a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC). You should have experience in mental health occupational therapy, particularly in community settings, and possess strong assessment and treatment planning skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential, along with the capacity to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team (MDT). You will need a valid driving licence with access to a vehicle and a willingness to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.
