Shift Engineer - Boxford
The Shift Engineer will be responsible for providing maintenance and engineering service support for the site, driving improved performance, cost, services, and quality - reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on FMCG production and packaging machinery, as well as associated process plant.
2. Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, minimizing downtime.
3. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to support machine reliability.
4. Support/lead production line improvements/project initiatives driving efficiency.
5. A key focus of the role is on development of proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activity.
6. Results-focused to ensure that repairs are carried out in a timely and professional manner.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience + Qualifications Required
1. Strong technical competence in FMCG environment.
2. Completed an apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
3. Promotes safe working practices.
4. Multi-skilled electrical & mechanical - Experienced in production environment with PLC, pneumatic control, high mechanical aptitude, and good diagnostic skills.
5. Electrical qualifications:
6. City & Guilds level 3 is a minimum requirement.
7. City & Guilds 2365, 236, 2330, or 2360 or 2351 or HNC.
8. City & Guilds 2391 inspection and testing (desirable).
9. 18th Edition (desirable).
Shift Pattern:
4-week shift rotation as follows:
1. Week-1: Monday, Tuesday = DAYS - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday = NIGHTS.
2. Week-2: Wednesday, Thursday = DAYS.
3. Week-3: Monday, Tuesday = NIGHTS - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday = DAYS.
4. Week-4: Wednesday, Thursday = NIGHTS.
