About the Role
The Quality Engineer role reports to the Quality Manager at our Skelmersdale Mill. We are looking for a talented and self-motivated individual to join our friendly quality and environmental team, supporting the site in ensuring compliance in all regulatory compliance issues.

What You Will Do
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in promoting and supporting product improvements, ensuring compliance with quality standards including BRC Audits, and developing and maintaining quality measurement standards. You will manage and implement standard documentation, update material and product specifications, and train teams on quality subjects.
* Customer Complaints: Report and investigate complaints, establish corrective actions.
* Quality Improvements: Identify and implement quality improvements.
* Support Teams: Assist teams with quality issues.
* Testing: Perform in-process and laboratory testing.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with BRCGS and ISO 9001:2015.
* Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers on quality issues.
* Audits: Conduct internal and support external audits.
* Traceability & Safety: Manage traceability and HACCP/product safety.
* New Product Development: Plan and execute trial tests.
Who You Are
* Experience: Previous work experience as a Quality Engineer in a consumer or food contact environment.
* Skills: Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies, in-depth understanding of technical documentation, and familiarity with statistical analysis.
* Attributes: Great attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, team spirit, and good analytical skills.
* Education: BSc in STEM or a relevant field. Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus.
