The Payroll Specialist is responsible for coordinating all payroll and benefits processes for the EMEA region, including hosted and/or corporate employees. We are looking for a payroll professional responsible for processing and handling payroll and benefits related duties.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with all statutory legislation and implement relevant policies and procedures to streamline payroll processes.
2. Organize and prioritize workloads to achieve an accurate and comprehensive payroll run within strict time scales.
3. Liaise and agree on monthly payroll timetables and deadlines between Finance and HR departments.
4. Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork for tax deductions and benefits.
5. Control and execute payments related to employees, suppliers, and others related to the department.
6. Analyze compensation-related data, including wages and bonuses.
7. Manage, control, and process benefit costs and maintain relationships with HR vendors.
8. Review timesheets and attendance records, correcting inaccuracies.
9. Prepare and process overtime and shift reports to the payroll system.
10. Accurately calculate payroll entries, including pro rata pay calculations, backpay adjustments, and holiday pay.
11. Collate and process all payroll change correspondence to agreed payroll schedules.
12. Verify all monthly payroll changes for accuracy and compliance with statutory legislation.
13. Communicate with external agencies on matters such as earnings and statutory submissions.
14. Create, review, and upload payslips online.
15. Distribute forms such as P45, P60, and P11d.
16. Obtain and verify direct debit banking information from employees.
17. Maintain accuracy of information between different systems.
18. Develop good relationships with employees, answering queries related to payslips, benefits, and policies.
19. Support and participate in different projects related to payroll, benefits, and/or HR.
Desired Skills and Experience
1. Proven experience in a similar role is essential.
2. Expert in using Payroll systems (e.g., Sage / ADP / SuccessFactors).
3. Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
4. Knowledge of Kronos time and attendance system (desirable but not essential).
5. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
6. Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
7. Flexible, hands-on approach to working as part of a team or individually.
8. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with departments.
