P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently recruiting an LGV Driver (Class 1) to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full time, permanent basis.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Required to carry out various LGV disciplines safely and efficiently to include waste vacuum road tankers and curtain sided vehicles.
2. This role will require long distance driving with overnight trips.
3. Distance tanker operations ensuring safe handling and transportation of a wide range of hazardous materials and products.
4. Operation of curtain sided vehicle.
5. Inspection and maintenance of associated accessories and equipment including pumps, valves, tanks, vessels, hoses and couplings.
6. Completion and processing of all relevant customer and regulatory paperwork.
7. Ensure that all activity is co-ordinated in accordance with relevant company guidelines and statutory regulations.
8. Attend team brief / safety meetings as required.
9. Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained with all areas of responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Class 1 LGV Licence.
2. ADR License.
3. Tanks Dangerous Goods by Road Certificate.
4. Digi Tachograph Card.
5. Experience of road tanker operations including the transport and safe handling of flammable/corrosive/toxic materials.
6. COSHH awareness (Desirable).
7. Safety awareness (Desirable).
Person Specification:
1. Maintains positive work relationships.
2. Thorough understanding of waste documentation and special waste handling.
3. Thoroughly familiar with relevant safety procedures for tanker and waste operations.
4. Up to date knowledge of changes in road traffic laws.
5. Ability to work stand-alone, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while a positive contributor to the wider team.
6. Customer focused and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships, both internal and external.
7. Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, flexible and can adapt to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
Working Hours and Benefits:
1. 45 hours per week, Mon-Fri with a 45 min paid break.
2. Overtime paid at time and a half, Monday - Saturday & double time on Sundays.
3. Annual leave 33 days including public holidays with three ringfenced for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
4. This role involves nights away which overtime and night allowances are paid.
