Job Overview
TE Connectivity's CNC Machinists prepare detailed numerical control programs for use in production on numerical controlled machinery; they run the EDM, including programming, setup and operation. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Set and operate first/second operation CNC machines and support with setting and/or operating second operation machines as required.
2. Set-up a range of 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machine tools by installing and adjusting work holding devices, tooling, spindle liners and bar feeders.
3. Operate a range of 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machine tools, ensuring that machine downtime is minimized.
4. Program, verify programs and settings using a range of measuring equipment on first articles, and apply appropriate adjustments and program modifications.
5. Ensure component compliance in accordance with engineering drawings and quality procedures using a range of inspection equipment.
6. Achieve the required standard times to meet departmental efficiency targets.
7. Ensure all required maintenance is carried out in accordance with the TPM plan.
8. Adhere to company procedures and TE’s core values and behaviors at all times.
9. Maintain 5S standards across the shop.
10. Work within the team performing various stages of production as defined by the Tyco Electronics Operating Advantage (Lean Manufacturing), Quality, Safety, Company Procedures and Industry Standards.
11. Handle various tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and urgencies as they arise.
12. Operate machines/equipment and maintain a clean and tidy environment within the department.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills
1. Experience working in an Engineering/Production/Machine Shop environment.
2. Engineering qualifications.
