Our Team
Urgent care is a convenient option for patients 18 months and older who require timely medical care, but the situation is not an emergency. It is incredibly important to us that our staff members provide the compassion and emotional support our patients need.
Our Urgent Care Center is located at 12 College Hwy, Southampton, MA 01073. The operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to join our team! The ideal schedule will be Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm. Since Urgent Care operates 7 days a week, staff must be flexible with scheduling needs and may be asked to cover weekends/holidays as needed.
Responsibilities:
* Obtain vital signs and blood specimens
* Assist providers in performing invasive and non-invasive procedures
* Perform point-of-care testing on patients
* Check-in and register patients
* Process referrals
* Order and stock clinical supplies and patient education materials
* Transport patients and specimens as needed
* Monitor the environment of care
* Perform administrative tasks as needed
This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association required
* One (1) year technical/vocational training school program or one (1) to three (3) years' experience as a medical assistant or EMT-B certification required
* CMA, AAMA, RMA, CNMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification preferred
