Our client, a well-known law firm with offices in central Harrogate, is recruiting for a Criminal Paralegal to join their team. The successful candidate will have upwards of 18 months' criminal law experience and ideally be police station accredited, or working towards the same. There is a strong potential of a training contract for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
1. Dealing with new enquiries and providing advice on the same.
2. Taking details of new instructions in detail from clients.
3. Providing legal advice to clients at the police station once qualified.
4. Drafting instructions to counsel, witness statements, attendance notes and general correspondence.
5. Preparing for trial.
6. General support.
7. Legal research.
Requirements:
1. Upwards of 18 months criminal law experience.
2. Police station accredited or working towards the same.
3. Driving license and access to own transport for travel to the police stations.
What's on offer:
1. Salary to £26,000 for candidates with strong criminal law experience; candidates with 3 years+ might be able to attract a higher salary.
