A contract opportunity is available for a Contracts Analyst, initially running until November 2025, with the scope for further extension. This role is with a leading energy company that plays a key role in global exploration and production, delivering energy responsibly while advancing towards a lower-carbon future.
As Contracts Analyst, you will be integral to supporting these exploration and production activities, managing contracts that drive operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contracts are aligned with business needs and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing assigned contracting activities, including strategy development, pre-qualification, tender list creation, tender analysis, contract negotiations, and preparation of contractual documentation.
2. Ensuring all contracting processes adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
3. Promoting cost-consciousness and seeking opportunities to support cost reduction initiatives.
4. Collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service levels are met and priorities are clearly communicated.
5. Developing contracting synergies and gathering market intelligence through regular engagement with category managers and internal stakeholders.
6. Contributing to procurement planning, ensuring contracting needs are anticipated, prioritised, and managed throughout the year.
7. Preparing and presenting to contract committees, providing necessary support to achieve clearly defined approvals.
8. Working with legal teams to ensure all contracts comply with company rules, contracting principles, and governance requirements.
9. Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and contractors, monitoring performance through contract management activities.
10. Driving continuous improvement in contracting processes, working closely with support and performance teams to meet agreed KPIs and CPIs.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in preparing and negotiating high-value, complex contracts, particularly in technical services or procurement-related activities.
2. Strong understanding of supply chain processes and integrated business systems related to procurement.
3. Knowledge of legal aspects associated with procurement and contracting.
4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence decision-making.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
6. Adaptability and flexibility, with a focus on supporting and embedding continuous improvement initiatives within the contracting process.
