About The Role
Sandbanks Day Centre provides high quality care and support for vulnerable residents who have been assessed as requiring a building-based day provision.
Our aim is to make a positive and meaningful difference to the residents attending our day provision by providing a programme that meets needs and is innovative and individualised in its delivery.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

* As the Assistant Day Centre Manager your key objectives will be to support the Centre Manager with the ongoing development and continuous improvement of day service provision. You will be responsible for mentoring and supporting Care Workers to deliver quality care and support to our residents.
At Sandbanks we champion a person-centred approach that provides more choice and control empowering independence in an environment that enables individuals to thrive. You will take the lead with the centre programme ensuring that there is a range of meaningful and therapeutic activities that are fit for purpose.
Your excellent communication skills and flexible approach will enable you to focus on achieving positive outcomes for our vulnerable residents. You will motivate and empower the staff team to provide a continuously high-quality service that is safe and in-line with the Adult Social Care vision.
Essential For The Role
* Previous experience of staff management within a health or social care setting.
* Relevant Health and Social Care/ management/ leadership qualification.
* Day services currently operate Monday to Friday.
* Enhanced DBS check is required for the role.
About You
* Demonstrable management experience within a Health or Social Care setting, and the ability to proactively provide visible and supportive leadership, empowering those around you to consistently high standards of care and support.
* Demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable residents, securing positive outcomes that are culturally sensitive and empowering to their needs.
* Demonstrable experience of quality assurance and Health and Safety Management including risk assessments, manual handling and personal care.
* Ability to effectively and accurately communicate, both in writing and verbally, with a range of partners and stakeholders, with particular skills with regard to assessments, reviews, care plans and HR matters.
* Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload, set deadlines and work with minimal supervision to manage service resources in a cost effective and personalised manner, while demonstrating excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
