Band 6 AHP Palliative Care inpatient and Community post.
Location: Borders General Hospital, with requirement to travel across NHS Borders

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and enthusiastic therapist to join the Therapy Team and be part of our well-established Margaret Kerr Unit at the Borders General Hospital.
Previous experience of providing specialist occupational therapy or Physiotherapy in Palliative care is essential. This post will focus on providing assessment and treatment to End of life patients, as well as individuals needs support and rehabilitation following, with the key aim of enabling individuals to achieve discharge from hospital in a timely fashion and to maximise function and quality of life. The post holder will provide clinical leadership and will have opportunities to deputise for the team lead as required.
The post holder will also be part of the lymphoedema service and outreach into the community to support patients are required in their home environment.
Opportunities for continuous personal development (CPD) are encouraged with regular supervision and appraisal and in-service training as well as access to relevant external training.

Please note: the salary quoted is for full-time hours (37 hrs per week). For appointments to part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rata.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
