Electronics Design Engineer
Responsible to: Head of Electro Mechanical Actuation Products UK
Responsible for: Electromechanical Design
Location: Deeside, Flintshire, UK, office based
Working pattern: 37 hours per week over 4 or 5 days per week, additional hours may be required as necessary to meet business commitments.
Travel: Occasional UK and/or Overseas travel to customers and other Triumph sites.
Language Skills: English, other languages desirable.
Job Purpose
We are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join our team.
Working within a growing Electro Mechanical Actuation Products team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electronic circuits from the concept phase right through to production. You will be involved in the electronics design process, simulating circuits, prototyping, creating schematics, designing PCBs then testing and assisting with the transition to manufacture.
You will contribute toward the continued support of existing products, the design and introduction of new products as well as define the next generation of electromechanical actuation products for aerospace, marine and military applications.
The role also requires the dissemination of your engineering knowledge and skills to mentor and grow the more junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
• Designing electronic circuits and interfacing of various electronic systems to meet customer specifications.
• Circuit simulation
• Schematic Design and PCB layout.
• Prototyping and bench testing PCBs and circuits
• Development and modification of design documentation.
• Interfacing with internal and external customers.
• Design of test rigs and equipment.
• Interpretation of customer's requirements/specifications.
• Identify and communicate technical risks to projects stakeholders.
• Presentation of technical solutions at internal and external design reviews.
• Contribute to cross-functional teams and support problem solving and corrective action activities to resolve design issues, ATP failures and customer returns/failures.
• Support engineering changes, using Documentation Control Tools. [Windchill].
Technical Requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with MATLAB
• Experience with Design software packages:
• CAD software – ideally SOLIDWORKS

• BEng / BSc in Electronics Engineering subject.
Desirable
• Masters Level or PhD in Electronics Engineering subject
• Industry body recognised accreditation, i.e., incorporated, or chartered engineer status.
