Job Description
Position: Commercial Project Manager - Energy
Rate: £500 - £600 per day
Location: Reading / Remote with occasional office visits
Contract Duration: 6 month contract with possibility to extend to 12 months / go permanent
I am working with a client who develops electricity network solutions (licensed and license-exempt) that ideally link in with wider Distributed Energy propositions. This includes providing solutions to existing network owners and new industrial and commercial customers. This role will be focused on developing the project pipeline through the acquisition and build-out of existing electricity network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
1. Support origination and qualify opportunities, including both project and asset acquisition and early-stage development with partners.
2. Work with partners, developers, asset owners, and investors in the market to succeed in near-term initiatives.
3. Bring experience in originating, qualifying, and developing network/distributed power and energy projects in the UK.
4. Manage partnerships and supply relationships.
5. Understand the technical and commercial elements of the electricity distribution system.
6. Develop project opportunities, conduct due diligence on projects, and deliver value by progressing the best opportunities through development and governance milestones.
Experience:
1. Proven experience in developing propositions from early stage to successful and profitable conclusion.
2. Experience in project development in the energy sector: power / gas / carbon markets, planning and permitting, grid connections, land agreements.
3. Strong commercial acumen to identify commercial opportunities and risks, and deliver the requisite business model structures in conjunction with the commercial and finance team.
4. Good knowledge of the energy and power markets, along with related policy and regulatory regimes in Great Britain.
5. Expert knowledge and development experience in the electricity network market and the needs of the industrial and commercial sectors.
6. Experience in key aspects of renewable project development (grid, land, and planning).
