As our team is expanding we have a fantastic and interesting opportunity to join Santander as a Governance and Finance Manager within our Payment Centre of Excellence (PCoE).
In this high-profile role, you’ll be responsible for the provision of cost management information to the business, providing support and analysis, alongside reporting of actual performance, forecasting, and budgeting. The role will report into the Head of Payments Transformation Governance but will provide further support across the wider Payments CoE.
You’ll play a key role analysing, understanding, and explaining business cost performance as well as providing guidance to aid delivery of cost targets. If you’re someone who’s performed a similar role already, this is the perfect opportunity to develop your career.
The difference you’ll make:
1. Improving the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on business performance to provide data insights to better support business decisions across the PCoE
2. Managing monthly reporting of costs covering actual v budget variances including individual cost centre performance and understand key cost drivers of activity
3. Liaising between business and Cost Reporting and Planning to ensure all budget requirements are captured and challenges are relayed
4. Applying control models across the Payments CoE to ensure adherence to bank wide policies and procedures
5. Providing support to deliver key projects & initiatives as part of the Payments CoE
6. Supporting the Head of Payments Transformation Governance with all performance related governance reporting to Retail and Business Banking, and the Central Transformation Office
What you’ll bring:
7. Extensive and demonstrable experience in Budget and Finance Management
8. Experience in Governance disciplines in a Financial Services environment
9. Understanding of reporting and control frameworks
It would also be nice for you to have:
10. Experience of producing written reports and MI packs for governance committees.
11. Excellent written and spoken communication skills
12. Experience within a Payments environment
13. Proven influencing skills, developed and refined through experience of business case and proposition development

This is a permanent position and is based from our Milton Keynes (Unity Place) office, our current expectation is at least days in the office every week.
