The Team
The Student Records team sits within Registry, part of the Student and Academic Administration directorate. The team is responsible for providing an effective and efficient administration service for all aspects of the student lifecycle, for students on all programmes and at both campuses. A busy and fast paced environment, the team deals with student records from enrolment to graduation and beyond.
The Role
Under the direction of the Student Records Manager and working closely with colleagues across Registry, you will help to deliver a high quality student experience, performing processes and administration throughout the student lifecycle making changes to the student record through the student information system SITS. The role includes supporting students with enrolment on programmes and modules, through to and including graduation, managing ongoing changes and maintenance of the student record whilst ensuring that students’ progress through their programmes of study in accordance with York St John University regulations.
You will contribute to the provision of an efficient, student and staff-centred service, as well as working flexibly to support the remit of the wider Registry team, including involvement in key university events such as graduation, enrolment and exams.
Required Skills and Experience
You will have experience of providing high quality administration support with a strong customer focus and a desire to help deliver a high quality student experience. You will need to be a team player and be prepared to adapt and respond to change, dealing with a variable workload within a fast-paced environment.
You will have excellent organisational skills and experience of working with IT systems. This role involves responding to student enquiries by email, telephone and in person so excellent communication skills are essential.
Additional Information
With our agile working scheme the role allows for a combination of on campus and home working with a minimum of 1.5 days per week on campus. Additional days on campus will be required at peak times such as enrolment and graduation.
