Responsibilities:
1. Support the business in maintaining ISO certifications and Operational Excellence, ensuring integration of all management systems where feasible to ensure streamlined processes.
2. Ensure the effective management, monitoring, and reporting of an effective risk-based SHE audit programme (3 year plan) including conducting internal SHE audits and supporting (in some cases coordinating or leading) external audits (LRQA, BSI, HSE, EA).
3. Review reported accidents/incidents/near misses and hazard observations in line with BAE Systems Significant Injury, Illness and Fatality (SIF) standard and guidance, ensuring suitable investigations are completed, root cause analysis is conducted, and providing accurate reports to Senior Management.
4. Support Shared Services Facilities Management in monitoring SHE performance in line with Company requirements, hosting annual Safety Maturity Matrix reviews, and assisting with the development and management of Improvement Plans.
5. Support Shared Services Facilities Management with the identification and management of SHE training for various job roles and the business risk profile, delivering awareness training as required.
6. Assure the deployment of new or revised business stream specific SHE documentation processes for effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Expert SHE knowledge and domain knowledge around facilities management.
2. Practical understanding of Energy Management and Systems (i.e. ISO 50001/ESOS).
3. Professional SHE qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma, Degree or Environmental Diploma.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Practical Lead auditor skills (ISO 14001 / ISO45001) and Lead Auditor qualification.
2. Training delivery qualification.
3. Food Safety audit qualification.
This role is leading a small team providing SHE support to the provision of Facilities Management services by Shared Services. The role will work closely with colleagues in both Shared Services, our partners in the supply chain, and the wider business.
You will have excellent exposure to all areas of BAE Systems, providing a varied and rewarding workload which contributes directly to providing the high standard of facilities required by BAE Systems to deliver its services. You will have the chance to influence across the SHE and Facilities Management team and support the continual improvement of the Shared Services strategy for SHE operations.
