About the role As SEN Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupils’ achievement and ability to develop. Purpose of Job To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Headteacher Senior Lead for curriculum and learning. To teach a range of skills and techniques as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum. Support the development of the provision that has a whole school impact. Have knowledge and understanding of: Strategies that relate to the education and personal development of SEN pupils including effective behaviour management techniques and opportunities to praise and reward. Implementing a school’s vision, aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies and action plans in relation to classroom practise. Statutory curriculum requirements and the requirements for assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ attainment and progress. The characteristics of high-quality teaching and learning as well as strategies to improve and sustain high standards of teaching and learning leading to achievement for all pupils.
