About the Role:
Our site in Carlisle employs around 1,200 people across 3 factories and is where we develop and produce a wide range of chilled meals for major retail customers.
It’s a fast-paced, complex operation and we’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our senior team and play a leading role in driving improvements and site performance.
This is a big, high-profile role and, working closely with our Site Director, is a great opportunity to deliver significant changes within engineering and have a positive impact on business performance.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Determining engineering strategy, addressing immediate issues and putting effective longer-term solutions in place.
* Assessing our current team structure and processes to ensure the team is fit for purpose and effective PPM strategies are in place.
* Leading, motivating and developing the engineering function, through a team of six direct reports, promoting a proactive culture with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Raising engineering standards, driving preventative maintenance, delivering engineering projects and managing site services.
* Reviewing and improving overall performance, ensuring the business embraces the latest maintenance techniques, technologies, and data management tools.
* Working collaboratively with the senior leadership team to improve overall site performance.
About You:
* Proven experience of managing and developing engineering teams in a food manufacturing environment (this is essential).
* Time served engineering manager, with demonstrable experience of driving performance, leading change, and achieving KPIs.
* Results focused and resilient, able to identify and implement innovative solutions to overcome significant, complex engineering challenges.
* Extensive project management experience.
* Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and improve teams.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, able to develop strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
