We’re seeking a Head of Reception to manage a dedicated client care team within a premium veterinary setting. This role is perfect for someone with prior experience in the veterinary field who excels in people management and is comfortable with operational responsibilities. About the Role As the Head of Reception, you will play an essential role in ensuring the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Reporting directly to the Clinical Director, you will oversee the front-of-house team, drive financial performance, ensure high client satisfaction and foster a positive team culture. This position requires a blend of operational, HR, and client care skills. You’ll work hands-on to maintain a welcoming environment for clients and their pets, while also managing the day-to-day operations behind the scenes. Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence: Oversee front-of-house operations, implement protocols, and maintain high standards of client care and reception area management. Team Leadership: Directly manage the client care team, providing guidance and support to Practice Hosts and Admin Teams. Lead by example, promoting a positive and collaborative team culture. Business & Financial Performance: Support client acquisition, promote membership growth and support managing financial targets. HR & Admin: Handle HR responsibilities, including onboarding, rota management, and performance reviews. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols and GDPR requirements. Community Engagement: Collaborate with the marketing team for local community engagement, events, and reputation-building activities. What We’re Looking For Experience: Proven leadership experience with direct line management responsibilities, ideally in a veterinary, healthcare, or related setting. Skills: Strong communication, time management, and organisational skills, with a high level of emotional intelligence and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge: Competency in handling payments, supporting the reception team and client care, along with a basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
