GSL Education London Branch are looking for a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher to join a vibrant co-educational secondary school in Newham. If you are an enthusiastic PE Teacher who can inspire students and help them develop a love for physical education, this is the perfect role for you.
About the Role
As a Female PE Teacher, you will deliver high-quality and engaging PE lessons, fostering a positive attitude towards fitness, teamwork and personal achievement. You will have the opportunity to develop and implement a diverse curriculum, ensuring that students of all abilities are encouraged to participate and excel.
Responsibilities of the PE Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging, high-energy PE lessons that cater to students of varying abilities and interests.
Promote physical fitness, teamwork and personal development through a structured and inclusive curriculum.
Organise and oversee extra-curricular sports activities, including training sessions and school competitions.
Foster a positive and inclusive sporting environment, ensuring all students feel encouraged and supported.
Implement differentiated learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students, including those with SEN.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development and achievement.
Maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline, ensuring a safe and respectful learning space.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents and external sports organisations to enhance the school’s PE provision.
Requirements of the PE Teacher:
A qualified teacher status (QTS) with a specialism in Physical Education, or a related subject.
Previous experience teaching PE at the secondary level, with a track record of motivating and engaging students.
A strong commitment to promoting equal opportunities in sports for female students.
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
A passion for youth development, well-being and holistic education.
Ability to adapt lesson plans to cater for students with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
