Simply Education is looking for someone for September who is passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives, we are recruiting for several institutions in Leicestershire who provide education for children aged 3-11 years old with Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties and SEMH. The schools believe in helping young people to embrace opportunities and use patience, determination, and flexibility to ensure that all children reach their full potential. They are looking for someone to join the team who shares these values and can get stuck in with the children so that you are able to go home at the end of a working day and feel accomplished.
The roles are available for short-term and long-term with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provide support to teachers by assisting with lesson planning, preparation of classroom materials, and implementation of lessons.
•Work one-on-one or with small groups of students to reinforce learning concepts and provide academic support.
•Assist with classroom management and behaviour intervention.
•Communicate regularly with teachers and parents regarding student development.
•Create a positive and encouraging learning environment for all students.
•Build and nurture positive relationships with both staff and children.
•Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The ideal candidates are:
•Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting.
•A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential, as carpooling students to and from school is required on a rota basis.
•A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent is desirable.
•GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification is essential.
•Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
•Knowledge or experience of working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, or ASD.
•A commitment to putting the child first and treating them as an individual.
•A positive and creative approach to meeting pupils’ individual needs.
