Job summary The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership, expert clinical advice and management support ensuring that midwifery care is delivered to a high standard and that the midwifery resource is managed effectively. The post-holder will work with the Directorate Triumvirate, matrons and nursing and neonatal colleagues to continually improve and develop successful clinical services, aligning with the Trust strategic agenda, local, regional and national network agendas. The post holder will undertake the key functions of the Modern Senior Matron Role, including spending 40 per cent of their time in highly visible clinical leadership, to ensure women's experience in their areas/department is of the highest possible standard at all times with particular emphasis on dignity, compassion and staff wellbeing. The postholder will work collaboratively with the Head of Midwifery to direct midwifery workforce plans for the service, providing managerial support and deputising as required. They will work collaboratively with the Directorate Triumvirate to build on the clinical and business success of the service, extending reputation and capacity to contribute to the corporate success of the Trust. The successful candidate will provide expert midwifery advice and leadership for the Trust and will undertake relevant projects within and outside the Trust, the networks, representing midwifery for the organisation.
