Job Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive IT Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide technical support to over 200 end users across 10 sites, ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems, hardware, and software. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving IT-related issues across a variety of devices and systems. The role will require you to support a diverse user base, from basic software queries to complex network and system issues. Additionally, you will assist in system upgrades, hardware installations, and network maintenance to ensure that all IT services run efficiently. Your ability to provide timely and effective support will be essential in maintaining business continuity across multiple locations. You will be customer-focused, have strong problem-solving skills, and be able to work well in a team environment. This is an exciting role with a fast-growing company. Length of contract: Permanent Responsibilities: Provide first level technical support to end-users via telephone, email, Teams and in-person. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues. Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software. Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks, such as customer documentation, and data imports / export. Create and maintain documentation for all scripts and automated tasks. Maintain accurate records of all support activities. Escalate unresolved issues to higher level support or third-party vendors as necessary. Provide end-user training as needed. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and secure. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology and software trends. Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed, and flexible attitude towards work, team member, colleagues and other persons. Recognising the importance and benefits of effective team working. To work in line with ‘best practice’ ensuring compliance to relevant policies. To maintain confidentiality and discretion. Perform routine maintenance on systems, including updates, patches, and backup management. Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they affect business operations. Assist in system and network upgrades or changes to improve performance and security. Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting the company’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and Wi-Fi. Ensure compliance with IT security policies, including regular password updates, antivirus software, and firewalls. Provide support for VPN and remote access issues. Lead and manage IT projects, from inception to completion, ensuring that project goals are met within the specified timeline and budget. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful IT solutions. Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones, and ensure the project stays on track Document issues, resolutions, and system configurations to ensure consistent support. Perform any additional IT-related duties as assigned by the IT Manager or Lead Engineer. The ideal candidate will have: Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT support or technical support Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
