Job Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Manager to join our school community. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that all pupils meet high standards of behaviour and engagement. This role directly supports the school’s commitment to meeting Ofsted’s 'Good/Outstanding' standards by promoting a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience among students.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead on behaviour management strategies to ensure a safe and supportive school environment.
* Implement, monitor and analyse the school’s Behaviour Policy in line with Ofsted’s expectations.
* Support staff in managing classroom behaviour effectively, providing guidance and training where necessary.
* Work closely with students, parents, and staff to address behaviour concerns and implement tailored intervention strategies.
* Develop positive relationships with pupils, acting as a mentor and role model.
* Analyse behaviour data to identify trends and implement targeted improvement plans.
* Promote restorative approaches to behaviour management, fostering a culture of accountability and reflection.
* Collaborate with the pastoral team to ensure students’ well-being and safeguarding needs are met.
* Liaise with external agencies where necessary to provide additional support for students with behavioural challenges.
* Lead initiatives that promote good behaviour, attendance, and punctuality.
* Encourage student participation in positive reinforcement programmes and recognition schemes.
* Lead on all exclusions and meetings
Person Specification
Essential:
* Experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
* Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Ability to engage and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach to working with challenging behaviour.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school culture.
Desirable:
* Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, counselling, or behaviour management.
* Experience working with students with SEMH
* Familiarity with Ofsted’s inspection framework and expectations regarding behaviour and attitudes.
