About this role
To support our continued growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to lead our financial and commercial strategy and operations for a portfolio of key business areas. Reporting to Banijay UK’s COO/CFO, the role is a senior finance leadership role and a key business partner to the Label MDs of Shine TV, Zeppotron and IWC. In addition, this role will have overall responsibility for providing overall financial, strategic and commercial oversight to Banijay UK’s social media Digital team.
Working closely with Finance and Label leadership teams this role will provide key financial and commercial insight to support Label MDs to hit Budget targets and set Long-Range plans that identify areas for growth and improvement of margin delivery.
The Head of Finance is a key business partner to MD’s and responsible for supporting them to improve commercial results, help create informed financial and business decisions and drive business strategy. By providing financial information, tools, analysis, and insight to those outside of Finance accountable for revenue generation and ensuring production activity comes in line with target.
The role will also be responsible for the leadership of a small production finance team with overall responsibility for management, oversight and development.
Key Responsibilities
* Work within and alongside the Label & Social Digital management teams, supporting: Label & Commercial Strategy; production finance planning; modelling of income, profit and future returns and guidance on day-to-day business activities
* Drive understanding, insight, interpretation of and strategic decision making within the label around: Production revenue and GP; Commercial revenue and GP; full label P&L, B/S and cashflow.
* Presentation of financial performance, full year forecasts and budget variances for all labels within portfolio including analysis of financial opportunities and risk; communicating label performance to the COO/CFO, UK Senior Leadership team and UK Group Finance team. Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
* Operational and line management of the label finance team and responsible for ensuring finance processes are fit for purpose and are working sufficiently where responsibility and accountability sits within the label
* Drive the continuous improvement of end-to end accounting practices
The role will:
* Improve the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on business performance by providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reporting to the overall business strategy
* Provide effective commercial guidance to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered with key focus on understanding the cost drivers of the business and providing insight to non-finance members
* Build partnerships and strong relationships with all senior managers in the labels and relevant business areas and their teams and provide financial support for commercial deals and deliver relevant analysis and insight on business opportunities, providing options and scenarios for business decisions
* Conduct market research studies and analysis to assess and keep across current market trends
* Challenge current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible through implementing good/best practice from elsewhere in the group
* Have full ownership for label P&L, BS and cashflow for corporate and SPV entities including analysis of risk management, reporting and presentations where relevant and assist with year-end audit
* Key focus area will be to manage cash flow and forecasting, develop a reliable cashflow projection process and reporting mechanism
* Be responsible for ensuring label Management teams have full understanding and are up to date on forecast P&L, B/S and Cashflow (where relevant)
* Have strategic management of future slate and timelines to manage full year and future years rolling forecasts and budget position
* Key working relationship with the Production Accounting pool to ensure alignment of label financial expectations with transactional postings

Knowledge & Skills
The ideal candidate will hold a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience and have the following skills:
* Strategic mindset, with the ability to provide insights that drive the company’s financial performance and growth
* Experience of working within the Production and TV industry and understanding of the Social Media landscape
* Proven experience in financial planning and analysis and a solid understanding of financial software and systems
* An organised, self-motivated and pro-active individual – able to work independently and take responsibility for ensuring high quality deliverables are produced on a time
* Strong prioritisation and project management skills –A proven track record of managing multiple work-streams to tight deadlines with numerous different sources of input, multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
* Ability to strategize and solve problems
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
* Excellent interpersonal skills both verbal and written - able to work with all levels of management within the UK and global group, finance and management/leadership teams
* Strong financial modelling experience coupled with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
