Social Worker – Advanced (Children’s Services) Location: South Normanton Hub (Office-based, five days per week) Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Advanced Social Worker to join a busy Child Protection and Families team. This role requires a minimum of three years’ experience, with a strong background in court work and legal processes. The successful candidate will manage complex child protection cases, attend case conferences, provide court reports, and recommend care arrangements. They will also mentor junior social workers, contribute to policy development, and ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation. With strong legal knowledge and risk assessment skills, this role is essential in protecting vulnerable children and promoting long-term stability. Key Responsibilities Manage complex child protection cases, ensuring compliance with statutory duties. Prepare court reports and represent the local authority in legal proceedings. Attend case conferences and work with multi-agency partners to ensure child safety. Provide mentorship to junior social workers and contribute to service improvements. Respond to urgent situations and provide immediate intervention when required. Essential Requirements Proven ability to work autonomously while ensuring accountability in case management. Strong experience handling court proceedings and working within legal frameworks. Ability to manage complex cases cost-effectively and in compliance with regulations. Full UK driving licence and access to a car. Desirable Skills & Experience Experience in multi-agency collaboration to improve care outcomes.
