Hutcheon Mearns is supporting an SME based in Cupar, Fife in their search for a highly motivated Management Accountant to take on a full-time, permanent position within this growing business. This is a role which will involve overseeing the day to day financial operations and systems of the business and provide financial insight for the board and management team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will work in the heart of the business, supporting both the daily operations and the long term development of the organisation. The Opportunity As an experienced Accountant, you will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial information. You will create and implement the budgets, prepare monthly management accounts, undertake cash flow forecasting and ensure the overall efficiency of financial systems and processes. Your role is hands on, working within a team of four and you will be the lead finance role within the team. Financial Management Preparation of budgets, monthly management accounts, cash flows and liaising with the accountant at year-end. Oversee purchase ledger, credit control and bank reconciliations. Preparation of member returns, weekly payments to members and delivery of timely payments to shareholders. Processing monthly VAT returns, monthly supplier payments, and credit control activities. Responding to financial requests and handling enquiries professionally and promptly. General Business Support: Collaboration with the management team to develop and enhance financial systems and processes. Contributing to the wider development and success of the business through operational improvements. The Candidate: You will have a proven track record of working in a dynamic, fast-paced sector and enjoy an incredibly varied role. Whether qualified by experience or holding formal accounting qualifications you will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and adept in spinning lots of plates. This is a fast paced role, where no two days are the same. The role will be office based with excellent on-site parking. The standard working hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch but will need a flexible approach to work during the peak seasons.
