Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support service users (SU) in performing Muppet Shows, utilizing their collection of Muppets.
2. Engage in arts and crafts activities with SU.
3. Accompany SU on walks to the park.
4. Support SU with complex needs and behavior management.
5. Recognize signs of behavior escalation and implement distraction techniques as per SU's Positive Behaviour Plan.
6. Participate in daily support tasks for individuals.
7. Assist SU with daily living tasks including meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, and social events.
8. Maintain communication with service users, management, families, and others while respecting confidentiality.
9. Document accurate notes and records as required.
10. Collaborate as part of a team to provide high-quality care.
11. Encourage SU's interest in musical instruments; having musical talent is a plus.
12. Support SU in singing and dancing activities.
13. Provide personal care support (bathing, showering, toileting).
14. Facilitate community-based activities (swimming, bowling, Zumba, gym, shopping, cycling, cinema, etc.).
15. Address challenging behavior by recognizing triggers and signs.
Personal Characteristics:
1. Willingness to learn about Muppets from Sesame Street.
2. Basic computer skills for assisting SU with arts and crafts.
3. Willingness to play musical instruments with SU.
4. Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards one.
5. Experience supporting adults with challenging behavior, autism, epilepsy, learning disabilities, and/or mental health issues.
6. Awareness of Positive Behaviour Approach for managing challenging behavior.
7. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
8. Confidence in working with individuals with challenging behavior.
9. Excellent communication skills.
10. Passion for working with vulnerable adults.
11. Commitment to high standards of safeguarding.
12. Enjoyment of singing and dancing with SU.
13. Working knowledge of PBS approach.
14. Recording skills.
15. Self-motivated to support service users in planning activities at home and in the community.
