Based at the Port of Grangemouth this is a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our busy Engineering team to play an integral role in our day to day engineering operations whilst advancing their career within the industry. This role will involve you working with a wide range of machinery and plant equipment across the Port, where no two days will be the same. Some of your main responsibilities will include: Maintenance, repair and fault finding of electrical systems within the Port; including, ship to shore cranes, straddle carriers, distribution networks and lock gate infrastructure. Installation and maintenance of LV electrical distribution systems, lighting systems and control circuits. Undertaking training as an Authorised Person for operating and maintaining HV distribution equipment. Developing an in depth working knowledge of plant equipment and associated drawings in order to minimise downtime when repairs are required. Escalating any equipment damage to Supervisory staff and liaise with operational staff to inform of timescales for repairs. Implementing best practice maintenance techniques to improve reliability efficiency. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure equipment is maintained for efficient plant operation. Your basic hours will be 37.5 per week working a partial shift system involving day and rotational shifts as part of a shift roster. A shift allowance will be paid for this in addition to your basic salary. You should also have a flexible approach to your working hours as regular overtime and participation in an on-call arrangement is part of this role.
You will be a time served qualified Electrical Maintenance Technician and have previous experience of working within a heavily industrialised environment. A good working knowledge of AC/DC control systems, PLC's and HV/LV would also be advantageous. You will be a confident communicator and be able to develop good working relationships with all stakeholders across the business. As our working environment comprises quaysides, warehouses and other Port buildings therefore the ability to work at height, in confined spaces and in an outdoors environment is essential.
