Senior Commissioning Engineer role:
• Planning and controlling the commissioning process, leading a team of commissioning engineers, and coordinating with subcontractors. You will report to the Regional Commissioning Manager and site managers, ensuring the successful execution of commissioning activities and efficient project handover.
Senior Commissioning Engineer responsibilities:
• Resource forecasting and allocation.
• Maintain a realistic, up-to-date commissioning schedule that aligns with the project programme and requirements.
• Day-to-day management and coordination of on-site commissioning activities.
• Effective engagement with client and operational staff to secure buy-in for commissioning plans, ensuring seamless integration, service level adherence, and timely handover with comprehensive training and documentation.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure designs are commissioning-ready.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive training plans, including coordinating specialist training.
• Facilitate feedback loops to improve future commissioning processes.
• Promote and oversee off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities by suppliers or other relevant parties.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety regulations and procedures.
• Ensure timely production of all commissioning documentation and collaborate with Technical Documentation teams to deliver O&M manuals.
Senior Commissioning Engineer requirements:
• Relevant qualification at HNC/HND/degree (electrical, mechanical or process).
• Extensive commissioning knowledge and awareness.
• Previous track record in managing commissioning at site level.
• Mobile across the United Utilities region, able to travel when required.
