Start date: 01 April 2025 – 18 month fixed term contract
Shift pattern: From 1st April to 30 June 2025, you will be working Tuesday to Thursday, 6am – 6pm. From 1st July 2025, we will move to a Double Day shift pattern – Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm or 2pm 10pm (alternated weekly).
The role
Due to expansion at our operation near Loughton Essex, we are looking to recruit a Maintenance Planning Engineer to join our growing team. A Maintenance Planning Engineer will manage delivery of equipment maintenance and systems for the site in line with current business, operations and engineering strategies to ensure compliance with legal and HSE requirements; company standards; meeting the required budget, whilst meeting targets for equipment reliability and plant availability. They will also ensure full utilisation of the available labour resources.
Key Responsibilities
* Comply with site Emergency, Safety, Operational, Security, Quality and Environmental procedures relating to all Maintenance engineering/project/commissioning on site, both personally and for reportees. Emphasis to be placed on safety management in engineering work, both in-house and by sub-contractors.
* Ensure all work is scheduled through utilization of the sites priority work matrix and agreed with the Engineering Manager and the Production Manager.
* Plan thoroughly the maintenance work to be carried out on the site to ensure safe and efficient completion of all tasks (breakdown; planned maintenance; short maintenance outages and major shutdowns).
* Drive the interactions with planning stakeholders and internal planning functions to ensure the maintenance plans align with the deliverables to business plans, ensuring compliance with all the necessary safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
To be successful in your application, we are looking for applications from individuals who can demonstrate:
* HNC level or equivalent in an Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field working in a manufacturing or related industry. Proven track record showing the ability to implement an effective improvement & development strategy for both processes and individuals delivering on key industry KPI’s.
* Experience and working knowledge of using CMMS systems.
* Knowledge in continuous improvement techniques, 5S, SMED, Lean and Six Sigma is an advantage.
* The ability to read and understand technical Elec/Mech schematics.
* Sound understanding of other engineering disciplines.
* Leadership, influencing, coaching and motivation skills.
