About the Organisation:
As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland's mission is to be integral to a world leading health service, supporting Scotland's health. The Central Legal Office (CLO), as part of NHS National Services Scotland, operates a Department based structure, covering Commercial Property, Commercial Contracts, Employment and Litigation. Each team within those Departments comprises experienced solicitors and support staff committed to delivering a responsive and cost effective service to clients across NHS Scotland and the wider public sector.
The Post:
Due to the way in which NHS Scotland roles are graded, a single generic job description for a litigation solicitor is used by CLO in connection with all its solicitor recruitments. Accordingly, any elements of the job description which do not relate to the CLO Commercial Property Department should be disregarded. This post is a Commercial Property position.
The Candidate:
You will be a solicitor with demonstrable breadth and depth of experience advising on commercial property work. You will join a department that delivers a comprehensive commercial property service to the NHS in Scotland, as well as to the wider public sector. You will report to the Team Leader of Commercial Property Team A. It would be beneficial for you to have some relevant NHS or wider public sector experience. You will have experience managing your own workload and be accustomed to dealing with a diverse range of clients at differing levels of seniority.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency. Details of how to apply for, or to update, PVG Scheme membership/Disclosure will be supplied to successful candidates.

Currently hybrid working. Please note, however, that the preference is for staff to attend the office at least one day each week.
