We are recruiting to the role of Lettings Officer to join our busy allocations team.
The successful candidate will have an influential role in delivering a customer focused service, developing service improvements and providing key performance information to assist in service delivery.
We are a large team responsible for effective processing, validation, advertising, shortlisting, allocation and viewing of properties across Gateshead. We also manage the furniture leasing scheme.
This role is one of two Lettings Officers who together will support the two Lettings Managers and two Team Leaders in the service to:
1. manage and assess applications to the housing register
2. respond to enquiries from customers
3. advertise available vacant properties and invite bids
4. carry out checks and make offers to successful applicants
5. provide an optional leased furniture pack
The role includes some supervision of team members.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused individual who is proactive in identifying improvements and driven to maintain effective working practices within the team and wider partnership working.
Business monitoring and preparation of performance information will be a substantial part of this role; therefore, an ability to interrogate ICT systems and provide statistical information within agreed timescales is essential. Knowledge of NEC and an understanding of lettings policies and practices would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will be an effective organizer with exceptional monitoring skills; whilst previous management experience is preferred, it is not essential.
The role is suitable for hybrid working and will involve a combination of working in the office and working remotely.
