This unique role supports our teams who manage the Agency’s Northampton Marina and other commercial mooring sites across the Anglian Waterways. The income from our commercial moorings is vital to help us maintain our navigations, whilst providing best customer service and quality facilities to our valued customers. We want to expand our commercial moorings portfolio further and this will provide an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to help shape the vision for our moorings and marina, maximising the potential income from these commercial sites.
You will be involved with:
• Liaising directly with existing and potential boating customers.
• Help manage the ‘day to day’ administration and management of our commercial sites.
• Liaising with colleagues/partners daily.
• Collect/Analyse data, ensuring our records and accounts are kept up-to-date and accurate.
• Co-ordinate responses between various teams involved in the management of our commercial sites.
This is a front-line role, primarily office based and will include direct liaison with customers and our own staff. There will be opportunities to support the rest of the Waterways team in promoting and managing our beautiful waterways.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training, and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team
We are responsible for delivering a safe navigation across 568km of navigable waterways, spanning 6 counties. We want to increase the number of users enjoying and benefiting from our wonderful waterways.
The Waterways Partnerships & Development team lead on partnership working and delivering commercial opportunities.
We are small team supporting the wider Waterways function that manages/maintains our navigations. We are working towards being a sustainable navigation business, ensuring people and wildlife benefit from improved waterways.
Experience/skills required
Through experience to date you will ideally be able to demonstrate some of the following:
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal/external customers and colleagues.
• Delivery of work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
• An appreciation of the Agency’s navigation responsibilities.
• Ability to work on your own initiative, and as part of a team, to make decisions and achieve results.
• Good organisational skills and an ability to use MS Office and other IT Software.
• You must have excellent communication skills to liaise directly with our customers by both email and telephone.
• You will demonstrate how you can maximise the efficient use of resources in relation to income generation.
• Be able to work to demanding deadlines.
• Be able to manage your time to work around seasonal demands.
• You must hold a clean drivers licence.
